Warren Committee approves 2.52 percent tax rate, lowest in decade
Township Committee · Meeting of April 16, 2026
NJ WARREN — Warren approves $27M budget with lowest tax rate in decade. The Township Committee unanimously adopted a 2026 municipal budget totaling $27,058,362.93 in appropriations with a proposed tax rate of 2.52 percent, the lowest in more than 10 years, according to Township Administrator Mark Krane. Though the budget reflects a 6.14 percent increase over 2025 appropriations, the tax rate decreases, with the average household facing a $64 increase based on an estimated property valuation of $1,021,852; Krane attributed 85 percent of the overall increase to rising health insurance, police operations, and property and casualty insurance.
The committee also unanimously approved $900,000 in federal funding for public safety communications upgrades and adopted an ordinance increasing an affordable housing development from 26 to 28 units with two designated as affordable.
